The FIT Young Adult Program serves people ages 18 to 24 who have been justice involved. The goal is to help these young adults identify a stable career and then to provide the training, supportive services and work items necessary for the young adult to take a place in that career.
Each young adult is matched to a Case Manager who works with them one-on-one throughout the course of their program. Together, the young adult and their Case Manager identify an appropriate career goal and then map the plan to get the young adult trained and qualified and to get a position in that career. FIT will provide, or direct the young adult to, all the services and necessities to achieve their career goal. This may include:
- Vocational training
- Life skills classes
- A financial literacy incentive program
- Paid work experience
- Supportive services (such as work items)
- Job search assistance
How to Apply
The first step is to attend an Orientation. As of now, Orientations for the Young adult Program are held every Monday at 8:30am. Be sure to be on time as the doors close at 8:30am. Orientation is held at the FIT building, which is located at 1931 Stella Lake Drive, Las Vegas, NV. This is just southwest of the corner of Lake Mead Blvd. and Martin L.
