Customer service call center employees participate in crazy hair day to help lower unemployment rate of previously incarcerated men and woman.
On April 7, 2014, Desert Call Connection (DCC), a leading customer service solutions company with offices in Las Vegas and San Diego, is holding a crazy hair day benefitting the Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow’s (FIT) ex-offender program, a Nevada non-profit that provides job training, coaching and support helping previously incarcerated individuals re-enter the labor market. For every DCC employee that comes to the office with crazy hair, one haircut will be donated to give to someone trying to get back into the workforce.
“FIT is an unbelievable program that creates opportunities for those in need to transform their lives and find employment,” said Gabriel Bristol, CEO of Desert Call Connection. “Many of our employees struggled with unemployment before they found DCC so this is a cause that is close to our hearts.”
FIT empowers motivated, unemployed and underemployed individuals in Nevada, toward financial stability and self-sufficiency through individual mentoring, resources and support for education, training and employment preparation. FIT’s ex-offender program offers services and funding available only for individuals with a past criminal history, and emphasizes training and employment opportunities.
“Something as simple as a proper haircut can affect the outcome of a job interview,” said Jennifer Casey, program specialist for the re-entry program at FIT. “Being given a second chance in life is definitely not easy but we hope that this haircut can make their re-entry into the workforce that much easier.”
