“I just hated to see people unable to move forward in their lives,” she said.
In the nearly 20 years since she began FIT, nearly 4,200 unemployed and underemployed Nevadans have found jobs that pay enough to make them able to support a family without public assistance.

Amber has over fifteen years of professional experience in the non-profit sector. “I am ecstatic to join an organization that strives to improve the lives of underserved members of our community.”
In her free time Amber enjoys taking her dog to the park, listening to music and doing yoga.
Nancy is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at CSN. “I enjoy interacting with other people. I love that we provide others with the tools and opportunity to make a better future for themselves.”
“I like camping with my family and spending time with my children.”
Donna, B.A. Hofstra University, and a licensed CPA, is responsible for fiscal and compliance monitoring for each program and grant.
When Donna isn’t crunching numbers at the office, she enjoys spending time with her dog and her husband.
Fabiola, currently studying accounting at the College of Southern Nevada, says “Everyone here is very caring, loving and sincere about helping others. We all care about the community.”
She adds: “I enjoy hiking with my girls on the weekends.”
Brandon has a computing degree from Bath College, “I love that we help people improve their lives and are a positive influence on them.” said Brandon.
He enjoys Muay Thai and riding his motorcycle.
Anyone and everyone who steps in the FIT facility always remarks how clean and beautiful our building is. That’s because of our Facility Manager, Tony. With FIT for eight years, Tony enjoys his collection of DVDs and riding his motorcycle.
Born and raised in New York, William worked as a journeyman plumber for seven years. In his spare time he likes to watch and play basketball. “I like the fact that we help people to get the skills necessary to find steady employment.”

Jennifer, B.S.W. UNLV, M.S.W, USC and licensed Social Worker.
“It’s so rewarding to see people expand their horizons. We are the support system that gives people the guidance needed to make a living.”

B.A., BYU-Hawaii, Schuyler says “We help clients break down barriers that they could not get past on their own. FIT’s team brings different strengths from different backgrounds that each help our clients.”

Curtis, B.S, Sociology, Southern Utah University. “Our staff is selfless and I’m lucky to be part of what is a very dedicated gathering of Case Managers.”
An avid motorcyclist and fitness enthusiast, Curtis enjoys reading books such as Enders Game.
UNLV graduate, Ashley says: “Helping clients get on their feet is invaluable. I love the team here.”
In her time off, Ashley loves to read, spend time with her husband and cat, travel and attend events at the Smith Center.
Bianca graduated from BYU-Idaho. She notes: “I love the atmosphere here. Everyone is very nice and involved with the clients, with the mutual goal of helping everyone succeed.”
Bianca loves to bake and once owned a bakery.
Alyssa, B.A., UNLV, loves giving back to the community. She also notes: “We become the support for our clients. This job requires excellent people skills along with patience.”
Her ways of re-charging include time with her family and working out.
A University of Phoenix graduate, Karina, said the key to FIT is the teamwork.
“There is no greater feeling than hearing success stories from our clients. Stories like that are so gratifying and it’s always rewarding to share their stories.”
Alfonzo graduated Mayville State University. “I got into this business because I love to help people. FIT is the perfect place to help people succeed.”
Alfonzo enjoys giving back through his basketball foundation and plays basketball whenever he has time.
Raquel is currently attending UNLV for her degree in Political Science. She said this of her FIT team “I love the strong friendships here and the humor.”
Raquel enjoys spending time at home relaxing with her pit bull.
Rita, B.A., Eastern Michigan University, recalls a highlight was the time a client called to wish her happy birthday. “Watching people beat the odds even when they doubt themselves is incredible.”
Rita loves to travel, read books and attend concerts.
Conrad B.A. University of Phoenix, is a retired Albuquerque deputy sheriff.
“I deal with everyone ranging from hospitality and construction to administrative. It’s so much more fulfilling now to be helping people coming out of prison rather than arresting them.”
Brandon was previously a chef and has always enjoyed working with people. He is currently working on his degree in Criminal Justice.
His favorite food is In-N-Out burgers. In his spare time he collects comic books.
Melia recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UNLV. “I want to give back to the community by helping others achieve their goals and be successful in their lives.” She spends her free time going to music festivals and playing with her dogs.
For five years, Salina has been the administrative support for the case management team. She notes: “We have a pretty awesome team. The group dynamic makes working here really pleasant.”
Salina enjoys sewing, baking and hanging out with her family.
Michael - B.S., University of Phoenix “. I love being a part of the FIT family because I can help others reach their goals, my passion is to give back to the community and this organization allows me to do just that.” I love spending time with my wife and sons and volunteering in my fraternity the Phi Beta Sigma.
I like working at FIT, I love getting up every morning knowing that what I do makes a difference to someone.
I spend my free time exercising and reading biographies of influential leaders.
